Items & inventory
Adding items
Section titled “Adding items”Go to Inventory → Add item and fill in a name, quantity, unit, category, and location. SKU and description are optional. Every item has a status — Available, Lent, Broken, or Maintenance — that updates automatically as you lend, return, or flag it.
Importing in bulk
Section titled “Importing in bulk”Use Inventory → Import CSV for existing spreadsheets. The importer expects columns for name, quantity, unit, category, and location, and will create categories/locations that don’t already exist.
Locations
Section titled “Locations”Locations are hierarchical:
- Site — a building or room.
- Shelf — a shelf or area inside a site.
- Box — a container that can sit on a shelf, useful for grouping items that get lent out together (see box lending).
Movements
Section titled “Movements”Every stock change — receiving new stock, taking items out, adjusting counts, or moving items between locations — is logged as a movement with a timestamp and the person who made it. You can see an item’s full history on its detail page, or browse everything under Movements.
Low stock
Section titled “Low stock”Set a minimum quantity on any item to get a low-stock warning on the dashboard and in the inventory list once stock drops to or below that threshold.
Categories
Section titled “Categories”Categories are a flat list you can filter and report by — manage them under Categories.
